Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

RawToHEIC ("the app") is developed and distributed by an independent developer. You can reach us any time at sgumz [at] me [dot] com.

2. What the app does with your photos

RawToHEIC reads RAW files from your Photos library, converts them to HEIC on your device, and writes the converted files back into Photos. Conversion happens entirely on your hardware using Apple's image frameworks.

• Your RAW files are never uploaded anywhere.
• Converted HEIC files are never uploaded anywhere.
• We have no servers that process, see, or relay your photos.
• All album membership, favorites, captions, edits, and location data are preserved locally by the Photos API — we do not read or transmit them.

3. What we collect

Nothing. The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash‑reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, no third‑party frameworks that phone home, and no account system.

iCloud Photos

If you have iCloud Photos enabled, Apple syncs your photos across your devices. RawToHEIC is not part of that sync — it only works with the local copy of your library on the device running the app. Your iCloud settings are managed by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.

4. Permissions we request

• Photos — Full Access. Required to read RAW files and write HEIC files back into your library. You can revoke this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
• Background processing. Optional. Used only so large conversion batches can finish while the screen is off.

5. Purchases

RawToHEIC is a one‑time universal purchase sold through the Apple App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive your payment details, name, email, or billing address — Apple only tells us that a purchase was made. See Apple's privacy policy for how they handle your transaction.

6. Support emails

If you email sgumz [at] me [dot] com, we see your email address and whatever you write. We reply, keep the thread for reference, and don't add you to any mailing list. We never share support correspondence with anyone.

7. Children

The app is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from anyone. Because we collect nothing, there is nothing to collect from children either.

8. Your rights

Because we do not store any personal data, there is no account to access, no data to export, and nothing to delete on our end. Deleting the app from your device removes all app‑local settings instantly. If you are in the EU/UK and believe we have nonetheless processed data about you, contact us at sgumz [at] me [dot] com and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds an optional feature that involves a network request — we will update the date at the top and, where the change is material, note it in the App Store release notes. Your continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
